As people ride roller coasters they may not know it but when they are up on that big hill with the huge drop they have GPE and KE. GPE is something that has the potential to fall (height) and KE is something that is moving . So when you start on a roller coaster you start with a little GPE because when you start you go up hill and then it gets potential to fall down that hill .At point 1 on the roller coaster it is increasing in GPE because it is at the heights point in the roller coaster at point 1 so it will have the KE as it falls because it gains speed .At point 2 it has no GPE at all because its at the lowest point on the roller coaster so it has the most KE because it is just moving not increasing on height. And at point 6 it has about an even amount of KE and GPE because it is increasing on hight and still moving at the same time.At point 1 there is really no KE what so ever because it is stoped and ot moving yet.At point 2 it is all KE and no GPE because the hight doesnt increass but it is moving at a stedy rate. At point 6 it has a little less KE then the rest of the poins because is is moving a little less then before so it hass less KE and GPE. So when you ride a roller coster you should tink about the energy that makes it move. so the connection is that to have KE you need GPE and to have GPE you need KE this is one example of energy.
